Google made official a new version of Google News (or News) on May 8, 2018, both on its official international and French blog . According to the firm, Google News will now use artificial intelligence and machine learning in real time to better organize information. In the coming days, the new Google News will replace Google Play Newsstand on mobile and computer, as well as the Google News & Weather app...
The emergence of AI within Google News allows for better data classification in record time . Information is collected in a stream as soon as it is detected on the web and then offered with a new organization. In theory, this allows Google to better understand all aspects of a news story, whether it is the theme, the people associated with it, the places or other factors affected, etc. Google News can then compile all this data to better understand an event or information.
On mobile, Google has added a "For You" tab to centralize all the topics that interest us most in general. It starts with a choice of 5 major topics of the moment, and with experience, artificial intelligence (or rather machine learning) will refine the suggestions to get closer and closer to what interests you. In this section, Google News presents a new interface called newscasts (news bulletins) which puts more emphasis on the content, images and videos associated with a topic. As the press release summarizes, newscasts allows you to better put a current topic into perspective.

Google News also has a "Full Coverage" feature , which, as its name off page seo service suggests, allows you to cover all aspects of a topic. This is very interesting, especially at a time when information is often erroneous or misinterpreted. When I was an archaeologist or when I was trained as a web journalist during my studies, we were constantly told that we had to cross-reference sources. This is obvious, but it is very often overused. With an option like full coverage, we can see a topic from several angles, covered by different sources, and therefore avoid falling into the trap of easy or even misinformation!

As Google News replaces Google Newsstand, features have been integrated. That's why you can find nearly 1000 magazines in a format optimized for reading on mobile . The idea is of course to offer all the latest news, but also not to completely lose what Google Newsstand offered. And if you want to subscribe or buy a magazine, you don't need your credit card, you can just go through Google's new "Subscribe" service that I had already presented on this blog very recently.
